We've seen quite a few VR fitness accessories since Meta Quest 2 began sales, but there's nothing like the VR dumbbells from KIWI Design. Many VR fitness accessories are designed to make it easier to sweat in your headset, and the VR Weight Dumbbells for Meta Quest 2 is specifically designed to make it harder. Available now on Amazon, the VR dumbbells are a set of individual attachments that can be used to adjust the emotional weight of each touch controller. The system comes with two pouches for both controllers that hold several polished plates of 1.8 ounces each. Up to three dishes can be placed on each controller mount; the more leaves added, the heavier the controller will be.
One of the major misconceptions we need to understand is the connection between games and the meta-universe. The metaverse is not games, but we reach the metaverse on a large scale through games. And why is that? Games are a means to facilitate the mass adoption of the latest technology. Through games, billions of people will be able to get into Web3 and eventually into the metaverse. They will be drawn to exciting and engaging games, and until they realize it, they will be immersed in the ecosystem. Gamification will be one of the biggest "springboards" for the transition to cryptocurrencies and, finally, to the metaverse.
Engineers in Zurich have proposed a new control technique that makes a legged robot, called ANYmal, able to traverse rugged terrain quickly and confidently. With the help of machine learning, the robot was able to combine visual assessment of the surrounding space with touch for the first time. Steep slopes on slippery ground, steps, rockslides, and a forest path with roots: the road to Mount Etzel on the southern tip of Lake Zurich at 1,098 meters is strewn with obstacles. Nevertheless, the four-legged ANYmal robot from the Zurich Central Laboratory quickly covered the entire 120 meters vertically in 31 minutes.
Innovative developments and scientific solutions are constantly providing us with more and more opportunities to creatively shape a new dynamic form of business and transform existing ones. VR technologies are not just influencing the shaping of an industry or a research field. They can affect all spheres of modern society, from medicine to spaceflight.
These improvements will allow hand movements to be tracked without a controller. The new concept of using computer vision and machine learning will allegedly improve the accuracy of recognizing overlapping or moving hands and certain gestures. Meta was the first company to introduce the controller's hand tracking feature in its original Quest in late 2019, which remained a "pilot" option until late 2020. Developers began allowing the new feature to be used in their apps.
Immersive virtual reality devices have existed for a long time. Still, their application was mainly limited to the gaming sector throughout most of their history. Virtual reality (VR) and its even more breathtaking alternative, augmented reality (AR), have slowly made their way into the medical field for several years. But only 2021 made a breakthrough and released a flood of AR and VR into the sector.
